An Interaction Study Of China's Foreign Trade Structure And Industrial Structure

The results of theoretical research and practice have shown that sustained economic growth of one country or region depends on optimization of industrial structure upgrade, and the development of foreign trade for the upgrade and optimization of industrial structure has a direct impact. The purpose of the development of our country's foreign trade is obtaining dynamic benefits for the main under the premise of static benefits, that is, use foreign trade to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. In this paper, on the basis of discussing the interaction mechanism between industrial structure and foreign trade structure, We reviewed the process of our country's foreign trade structure and the evolution of industrial structure since the reform and opening-up. Then utilize the extended export production model, vector autoregressive model, Granger causality test to do empirical analysis on the interaction between the two. Empirical results show that, in general, there is a significant correlation between the structure of import and export trade of our country and the industrial structure of our country. In the correlation between changes in import and export trade and the changes in industrial structure in the structure of Granger causal relationship to each other through different lag has a positive correlation, that is, changes in the structure of foreign trade played a catalytic role in upgrading the industrial structure. Industrial structure optimization and upgrading of our country also has promoted the upgrading of the structure of China's foreign trade in a certain extent. However, the results of regression analysis in the stage of the 90's after the 20th century shows that foreign trade structure has not been significantly promoted the upgrading of the industrial structure.
