The dualistic structure model performance, proposed by Motowidlo&Scotter, was clearly divided into two aspects-task performance and contextual performance. As a result, contextual performance was singled out to refer to those worker behaviors including help, volunteer, active and so on, which have long been neglected by organizations. And because of its strong supplement of performance concept and enormous effect that the reality brings about on organization performance, people gradually pay more attention to it. In 1970's, Dansereau&Graen proposed that leader-member exchange refers to the relationship that establishes between the subordinate and the director in the course of their work. As a process and result theory in leadership behavior research, currently leader--member exchange has become a hot and priority field in organizational behavior leading research.Although scholars have carried out a large amount of studies about the contextual performance and leader-member exchange, there is certain deficiency in current study. From a theoretical sense, scholars are seldom to separate contextual performance from the performance to explore the influence that the leader-member exchange brings to; furthermore, the research that targeted to specific objects which are two fields of knowledge worker and their relationship is inadequate. From a practical sense, now management status quo of both leader-member exchange and contextual performance has room for improvement, and meanwhile, under the economic crisis situation, the study of the relationship between the two has significant practical value to propose new management ideas and to improve and enhance the current management lever. As a result, this study is based on document research, through the questionnaire survey method and in the use of statistical software SPSS13.0, and results are analyzed by carrying out descriptive statistical analysis, variance analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis in order to reveal the status quo of our country's leader-member exchange quality of knowledge worker and contextual performance, to observe whether the different demographic variables to leader-member exchange quality are significantly different from contextual performance and to analyze the correlation of leader-member exchange quality and contextual performance and their prediction functions. The purpose is to provide theoretical supplement to this field, and more to provide a practical basis for enterprises to improve the management of knowledge worker. The main conclusions are as follows: 1 At present, the status of contextual performance of knowledge worker and leader-member exchange has not reached a higher quality state. Especially the quality of leader-member exchange needs improving.2 Among individual characteristic of knowledge worker, only the unite nature has remarkable difference in contextual performance, and the state-owned business contextual performance of knowledge worker level is highest, while the foreign capital and the private enterprise contextual performance of knowledge worker level is lowest.3 There is significant positive correlation between leader-member exchange of knowledge worker with its four dimensions and contextual performance with its two dimensions. Among them, the affect dimension and the contribution dimension are highly correlated with interpersonal promotion and job dedication separately.4 The affect dimension and the contribution dimension of leader-member exchange of knowledge worker have significant positive prediction function on contextual performance and its two dimensions. Among them, the affect dimension is the strongest predicator of the interpersonal promotion, while contribution dimension is the best predicator of job dedication.
