China's fishery is facing a new revolution after its main growth mode turning from fishing to cultivation and need to achieve the double goals of increasing revenue of fisher folks and ensuring the supplement of aquatic products, finish the double tasks of developing fishery economy and protecting water ecological environment, and exploit the double markets both domestic and abroad. There are both challenges and opportunities.However, the fishery basic operating system of"fishing based on unit boat stock-joint and cultivation based on household contract"showed more and more problems. The low degree of systematism can not adapt to the drastic market competition and modern fishery.Professional cooperative economic organization of fishery adapts to the market economy and is popular with most of the fisher folks. It has function in improving fisher folk's systematism, reducing market cost and upgrading modern fishery. The organization has been endowed with market subject position by《The Law of Farmer Cooperative》issued on 1st July, 2007. All in all, professional cooperative economic organization has a great development opportunity.In the past few years, professional cooperative economic organization of fishery developed quickly, especially in Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces which have a large scale of fishery economy. Some good examples of fishery professional associations and cooperatives can be seen.
