The Research Of VMI Implementation In Linde

Inventory management is the fundamental of operation management,inventory not only influence the cost of enterprise operation but also have an impact to the total cost, performance and competence of supply chain.In China,most of construction machine manufacturers are facing the problem of high stock cost.How to apply the new inventory management methodology to utilize the resource of supply chain and reduce the supply chain cost,managing the supply chain in a higher efficiency,lower cost,more flexibility and just in time is now becoming the focus of all manufacturers.With an overall introduction of Vendor Managed Inventory(VMI),this thesis take an effort on researching the advantage and potential risk in VMI strategy.Combined with working experience and the case of Linde,under the analysis of actual operation and existing problems on the supply chain management(SCM),coming out the VMI program implementation plan and detailed action in Linde,in comparison with inventory controlling KPI after the VMI implementation,it draws a conclusion that VMI is the essential for SCM improvement.First of all,this thesis introduces the appearance of VMI,its basic concept and principle,lists out the pre-condition of VMI implementation,after that put forward the VMI program model in Linde supply chain management.With regard to the research of Linde VMI program,this thesis introduce the Linde background,have an analysis of Linde existing situation and the necessary condition to undertake the VMI program,describe the VMI implementation process and the achievement of inventory controlling after the implementation.Further to the research of Linde VMI program,this thesis discusses the implementation of VMI in construction machine manufacturer and point out some factors that caused the ineffective implementation of VMI,finally give the manufacturer an suggestion to consider some aspects which lead to the successful VMI program implementation.
