Recently our urban system has gradually broken the administrative division boundaries and developed into regional economy integration, formed Metropolitan Area which's core is central cities, urban space between increasingly close ties. Meanwhile the rapid economic development makes transport demand upgrading, people's need of safe, efficient and comfortable passenger transportation growing rapidly.In order to promote and adapt to the rapid formation and the rapid development of Metropolitan Area, we should build a reasonable and efficient passenger transport network which provide services for the future economic development of metropolitan regions. It's necessary to use the Metropolis rapid passenger transport network planning to balance the dynamic relationship between rapid passenger transport demand and supply scientifically, thereby clarify the development direction of metropolis rapid passenger transport network.The paper begins from analysis passenger flow factors and the impact of passenger transport demand in Metropolis, then use Maslow's demand hierarchy theory into passenger transport field, let the passenger transport demand level hierarchical with the level of personal income and put forward the classification criteria of middle-income and consequently define Metropolitan Area's Rapid passenger flow. Use the passenger node evaluation index system and the node importance of Metropolitan Area's rapid passenger transportation to determine these control points which must be contacted in the rapid passenger transport network. According rapid passenger demand factors to establish prediction model of rapid passenger volume and passenger distribution volume. There is empirical study on Beijing and Tianjin Metropolitan Area. Then it determines Metropolis rapid passenger transport network on rapid passenger flow predictive value and Metropolis circle divided in future. It focus on characteristics of rapid passenger transport network in Metropolitan Area, makes the resource optimization of Metropolis passenger transport lines as a target and then turns network optimization into a minimum cost (time costs) maximum flow in order to optimize Metropolis rapid passenger transport network. Finally, it gives technical evaluation index from two aspects as network's structure and traffic function, and then gives an overall evaluation to Metropolis rapid passenger transport network.The paper supplies more practical and systematic approach for the rapid passenger transport network planning in Metropolitan Area and provides accordance for the integration of Metropolis passenger transportation and transport facility rationalization.
