| In this paper, took the road transport industry in Gansu Province as the study object, applied SWOT analysis method to analyze the current situation of road transport i ndustry in Gansu Province and the existed problems in the development of it. And atthe same time, learn home and abroad advanced experience in transport equipment, main structure in the market operation, terminal area facilities, information technology application, level of transport services, environment of road transport, safety and quality and so on, especially in the Guang Dong, Jiangsu provinces, and proposed some go od suggestion for Gansu Province's development in the future. These suggestions can optimize the structure of road transport industry development, promote the transition ofthe road transport industry, improve the transport infrastructure conditions, speed up transport links and port construction, and optimize the environment of road transport in dustry's development step by step, promote the road transport industry's development to the scientific style, reduce energy, speed up the its reformation and reinforce the roa d transport industry market supervision to move forward a single step and so on.
