With the flourishing development of financial industry, there is an increasingly strict demand for the informatization in the financial world, and the corporations are attaching great importance to its own development as well as its employees' and their satisfaction. However, the previous manual evaluation system is far from enough for the current development of informatization. Therefore, it is of great significance to establish a fair and scientific evaluation system based on informatization.A performance evaluation system based on metadata can avoid such problems as data discrepancy and data quality resulted from the heterogeneity of the source data. After introducing metadata and its importance in database and analyzing the characteristics and types of bank data, this thesis drew the conclusion that it is feasible and necessary to build an evaluation system based on metadata. Management of metadata can improve the maintainability of the system, guarantee the credibility of the final evaluation data, and provide assistance for decision. Therefore, the thesis mainly analyzed some existent and universal metadata management modes and proposed a mixed metadata management mode after analysis and comparison.Data from different sources was centralized with the help of ETL in this thesis, and the accuracy of the extracting, transformation and loading data is ensured by metadata. The thesis conducted an in-depth study on the design and realization of ETL which is used in analyzing performance evaluation data, and proposes data-quality control in the realization of monitoring ETL. The thesis proposes the performance evaluation is mainly manifested in employees' sale evaluation and work quota evaluation. Employees' sale is also named current pay bill, which means a pay bill system is carried out for the bank's products they have sold. Different product has different pay bonus. More bonuses will be given to the employee who has sold more products. Besides, many people will share the bonus through recording sale. As for the evaluation of work quota, employees' income from a single work is assessed by setting a certain work coefficient, during which the risk degree of different works and allocation state of their cooperation will be taken into consideration.
