Research On Inventory Management Of Taian Netcom Under The Environment Of ERP

While the competition in telecommunications market becomes increasingly fierce, all telecom operation enterprises start to improve internal management standards by means of constructing enterprise information management so as to improve their core competitive ability. The implementation of ERP intended to strengthen the internal management of enterprises has become currently the first choice of all telecom operation enterprises to reduce the ERP implementation process and to control the flow of the existing contradictions and conflicts. How to reduce the risk to improve the success rate of ERP and how to increase the efficiency of ERP? These become key issues for the enterprises. At present, as mainstream of the Enterprise Information Technology development, ERP software has become a powerful tool for the world enterprises to improve management, improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Inventory management is an important component of ERP system software, also an important part enterprise-management. Enterprise inventory management not only expect to know the accurate inventory information, but also has an urgent need to improve storage space utilization, to speed up the flow of goods, to increase productivity, and to reduce inventory occupation of funds. While "Escrow" materials management along with ERP is a way to control the situation, Tai Netcom, like other companies in the telecommunications industry, needs its communications materials at a reasonable level so that it can find the best balance between meeting the communications satisfying the needs of the construction and efficiency of stock.Inspired by the actual purchasing and inventory work of Tai-an Netcom after putting ERP into practice, analyzing the Tai Netcom's business processes, as well as the operation of the ERP process, this paper focuses on Tai-an Netcom's implementation of ERP in the process of inventory management, the difficulties to address the problems of the ERP procurement and inventory modulations, and the problems and bottlenecks in the course of the ERP implementation. This paper also points out that Taian Netcom ERP inventory module is not going smooth due to the conflict between traditional business processes and the ERP system requirements. So Tai-an Netcom should reorganize the business process adapted to the ERP system. At the same time, they should increase staff training at all levels and develop a variety of operating regulations to be strictly followed.Based on the particular business processes of Taian Netcom under the ERP operational environment, this paper compares the VMI mode and hosted mode, uses modern inventory control method and demand prediction, and puts up a efficient way to apply the ABC classification method as well as making regular orders in fixed amount to strengthen the management of the escrow materials; to take ERP as the core for Business Process Reengineering (BPR), to standardize material flow, to ensure the storage of goods in sorts and ERP systems consistency with the storage, and to lower inventory level in ERP system so that they can solve the problem that ERP system and inventory account is inconsistent.
