Green Trade Barriers On Apple Export Trade: Its Effect And Countermeasures

Green trade barriers in export trade are an unavoidable problem in today's international trade. Agricultural products, as their direct relation with the consumers'personal safety and health, have become a very important aspect. As a big agricultural province, apple industry in Shaanxi serves as the backbone of the province; therefore, the research on the influence of apple export trade of green trade barriers in Shaanxi is very necessary. Although only a individual study, research on the green trade barriers of apple export is also a general one containing the export trade of other agricultural products. In order to be more focused, research here is only conducted on the influence and countermeasures of the green barriers of apple export trade in Shaanxi.This thesis is divided into six parts:Chapter One is the introduction, which includes the research background, the significance, and the research methodology. Chapter Two is the literature review of previous studies. Chapter Three revisits the related theory of green trade barriers, including its definitions, causes, types, characteristics, and the developmental trend. Chapter Four analyzes the causes and effects of the apple export trade in Shaanxi. Analysis wii be focused on its current situation, advantages and disadvantages, characteristics and reasons of the green trade barriers as well as its effects. Chapter Five is the empirical research. By drawing and improving the Cobb-Douglas production function, this chapter does research into the negative effect of the green trade barriers on apple export trade in Shaanxi. Chapter Six proposes relevant countermeasures for facing the green trade barriers in apple export trade in Shaanxi.
