With the rapid development of modern economy and technology, market competition is growing badly. The formulation and implementation of manufacturing business plans can not be clearly adapted to the changing environment of internal and external. So scholars have put forward the concept of manufacturing execution system (MES) in order to help break through the traditional bottlenecks in production enterprises. Manufacturing execution systems can fill the gap between production planning management and low-level control, as to support the function implementation better for ERP and other information management system.In this paper, we achieve the current MES system requirements of manufacturing industry through modern manufacturing and MES System analysis, as stability, rapid transaction processing, on-site continuous work and real-time scheduling. However, whether the C/S structure or the B/S structure is not well adapt to this demand, due to the inherent disadvantages of traditional software development model. In this paper, a smart client framework model for MES designing is proposed based on the detailed analysis of the smart client-related theories and technologies. The use of smart client technology with the advantages of Off-Line work, convenient deploying and updating, combining .NET development tools, can improve the traditional MES developing ways, as to achieve the functions of MES fast user response, real-time information collecting and processing, convenient version management and document management.In this paper, smart client framework model for MES is applied to the technical implementation of GEAMES. Ant colony algorithm, genetic algorithms and other advanced mathematical algorithms for production scheduling optimization are used in GEAMES, and encapsulated in Web Service which improve system development more efficiency and flexibility. The success of GEAMES system certificates the feasibility for MES framework model based on smart client, and lays the foundation of further study for smart client technology's application in manufacturing industry information construction.
