The Development Of Foreign Trade Of Jilin Province Of China: Its Current Stituation And Countermeasures

With the trend of economic globalization, the economic relations among the countries become closer and closer. It takes on the great significance not only in the theoretical fields, but also in the practice to study how to improve the foreign trade power of a country or region, to participate in the international division of labor reasonably, to utilize the two markets in the domestic and foreign areas, to play the "growth engine" role of the foreign trade betterNortheast China has a vast area and strong economic base, with the rich resources. Jilin Province has been the country's major agricultural base and industry base, has made important contributions for the country's economic development. However, after the reform and opening up, Jilin Province's foreign trade competitive power upgraded not only slower than in the developed coastal provinces, but also slower than the national average level. The leading role in economic growth weakened. On December 11, 2001, China became a WTO member formally, which means that China's reform and opening up has entered a new stage of development. It has become the key issues which need to be solved that how Jilin Province to expand foreign trade volume, to improve the export structure, to increase the trade competitiveness, in order to promote rapid economic development in a new round of competition in the market.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, discussing the research background and significance, a brief description of the domestic and foreign scholars'studies on the relationship between foreign trade and economic growth in the research, the structure and the innovation of this paper as well as the insufficient. In the second chapter, it introduced the theory of foreign trade development mode, summarized the international and domestic foreign trade theory, paved the theory way for further explore the development of foreign trade of Jilin Province. In the third chapter, by the Review of foreign trade development in the past three decades of reform and opening in Jilin province and on the analysis of the development situation of Jilin Province, summarized the structural characteristics of foreign trade of Jilin Province, also revealed the trade's important role in driving economic growth throughout the province. In the fourth chapter, with the study of Chinese foreign trade, there is a specific analysis in general based on the combination of the inherent characteristics of Jilin Province. In the analysis of using qualitative methods, the relationship between trade and economic growth were measured, revealing the current foreign trade development in Jilin Province the main problems and constraints of Jilin Province foreign trade and development summarized the main factors behind the problem-solving for the practical basis. The fifth chapter, based on the previous analysis, proposed four measures to promote development of foreign trade of Jilin Province and suggestions: First, in the macro environment, the market system and market operation mechanism for the promotion of foreign trade of Jilin Province healthy development of sound institutional environment should be improved; Second, in the concept of respect, make full use of national policy to promote industrial upgrading in Jilin Province, and thus improve the foreign trade structure; moreover, at the micro level, at the time which maintain the a resource-intensive exports of primary products share, focusing on the expansion of labor-intensive products and technology-intensive products exports. Finally, we need pay attention to the geographical advantage of Jilin Province, to speed up the development of opening pilot zone, export processing zones, border trade zone development, making more efforts to develop international markets. These measures and recommendations are proposed in line with the principles of relevance and feasibility, wish that it has the practical significance for the promotion of foreign trade of Jilin Province development and economic growth.
