Research On The Transformation Of China's Economic Development Pattern

Since reform and opening up in 1978, China's economic development has made remarkable achievements, the economy scale nearly obtained over ten-fold growth, GDP and per-capita GDP grew at an average annual growth rate of 9.8% and 8.5%. However, China's economic development was relied on the strong tradition of high input, high consumption and high capital accumulation. The current economic growth pattern has triggered a series of economic and social problems, and this has threaten the sustainable development of national economy and stable society. For example: frequent economic fluctuations, low-rate of economic productivity, irrational economic structure, the increasing and unsolvable employment conflicts, shortages of resource and energy, ever-morphing expanding gap between the rich and the poor, catastrophic environmental pollution, ecological destruction, etc. This shows that the quantitative type of our country economic development has out of date according to the situation as present, we have to focus on development, but not quantity growth.This thesis firstly based on varies of theoretical researches, under theories of Marxian Political Economy, learn from Western economics, Cyclic Economy Research and Development economics, etc. Summed up the economic development of the macro-and micro-forming mechanism, which include resources inputs and the productivity, economic growth, economical structure, economic efficiency, resource utilization and environmental protection methods, scientific and technological progress and knowledge and people's living standards and methods; put forward that the transition of the economic development style should transform from the quantity-based economic growth, from expansion to scale efficiency type, from high-cost to low-cost, and resources and investment-driven to innovation-driven and technology-driven change in the pattern of economic development, and summed up the fundamental factors that impacted on the transition of economic development style are lack of the implementation of Cyclic Economy(Circular Economy) and the vague concept of Sustainable Development. Secondly, this thesis, adopting methods of analysis and summaries, a combination of general and special and analysis of the history and logic combination, based on the connotation of economic development and the micro-forming mechanism, analyzed that current situation of China's economic development were that the economy has maintained lasting growth in high-speed, economic operation quality and efficiency continues to improve, economic operation quality and efficiency has continued to enhanced, the economic structure has optimized constantly, scientific and technology has improved, and people's living standards has improved continuously; analyzed that the main problem of economic development is volume-based, relying on the investment scale and resources input and high cost-performance to promote economic development. This kind of development pattern could be the barrier of the establishment of harmonious society, Summarized that the implementation of the Cyclic Economy will be one of the most suitable adoption in the transition of economic development pattern. Finally, this thesis using the theories related to Development Economics, Cyclic Economy, and cases of application of Cyclic Economy in Japan, Germany and America. Combining with the way our country's economic development and socio-economic system, proposed that relationship between the implementation of Cyclic Economy and the transition of the way the economic development style was quite close, suggested proposals to transit our country's economic development mode. Since the industrial economy, Cyclic Economy had provide a strategic paradigm for the transition from traditional economics to sustainable economics. It has gave a holistic thinking on optimizing the various components of the human-economic system, and thus fundamentally relieve the sharp conflict between the economic development and environmental unity, promote the harmonious development between man and nature. We should be based on the actual situation of China, learn from developed countries, format the cyclic economy with Chinese characteristics, make the transition of economic development pattern to achieve a historic success and finalize our ultimate goal of harmonious society.
