Research On The Application Of Project Schedule Management For Surveying And Mapping Engineering

An engineering project can be delivered for using at a scheduled time or not, will affected directly the successful completion of the whole project, the normal discharge of the contract, as well as the generating of the economic and social benefits.Therefore, the effective schedule control of a project, to achieve the desired goal, is one of the central tasks of that of project management. Introducing the ideas of schedule control to the field of surveying and mapping engineering, and managing with an overall planning integrated with the application of a variety of knowledge, technology and methods of project schedule management, will not only make the management of surveying and mapping more orderly and efficient, but also be helpful to the outcome of a surveying and mapping engineering's serving the design, planning and engineering construction more timely and providing more detailed geomatic information for urban development and the protection of land resources.The first chapter of this paper, Prolegomenon, focuses primarily on the history of surveying and mapping engineering's development and the common problems existting in the project management of that, as well as the content and significance of this research. The significance and the important role of applications of surveying and mapping engineering schedule management current is emphasizd in this papper, which also accents the necessity of full application of project management as the increasement of scale and complexity of surveying and mapping engineering.In chapter II, Project Management Guidance, aspects such as history of project management's development, definition and characteristics of project management, meaning and role of schedule management, formulation and preparation of schedule management and the control of the control plan are discussed and summarized. This paper also analyzes the progress, methods and means of the schedule control, and conducts schedule management in-depth analysis from common project management approach.The third chapter, Project Schedule Management of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, takes cadastral survey project, which is more complex in surveying and mapping engineeringn for example, analyzes the progress and methods of project schedule management in layman's language. The fourth chapter, Summary and Outlook, emphasizes the necessity and importance of project schedule control, as well as future trends of surveying and mapping engineering. It also discusses the theoretical methods used in this paper and the conclusions of this study, as well as the insufficient aspects and improving direction.
