In recent years, as the rapid development of China's tourism economy, tavelling on vacations become the new consumption patterns. Tour guid, as the soul of the tourism industry has made important contributions. Some people shifted from receptionists for Overseas Affairs Department to employees of tour angency, and then changed to the free tour guide of tour guide service management company. Tour guide has become a kind of career lacks of management.In order to conform to socilization trends, and for better management, in January 2002, our country has pointed in Guidence for the Guide Service Management Organization that the tour guides should answer the call of Articles of Tour Guide Mangement and Implementation Method of Tour Guide Management and special management organization should be taken place in tour cities. management organization, then the guide service management company will be in charged for the daily management, dispatching, payroll, social insurance and training and so on…After the Guidence issued, the nation has gradually emerged in many cities guide service management model. The vast majority of small travel agencies no longer have full-time tour guides, so tour guides have achieved most of the socialization of management. The tour guides get their certificates through the tour guide service management company and lined up for the call from tour service management company.At the vey beginning, people want to give the the guarantee from the new management model to protect the interests of the guides and hope that could improve their service quality. But currently, theremuneration social security, vocational trainin still can not be sured to be implemented。There's no clear definition of the legal relationship amony tour guides, tour goude service management company and the travel agencies. The complaints are still stubbornly high on the guiding service. Guide service management company has been there nearly a decade, but it achieved little. Negative news become more and more and the living conditions of the guide has not improved but deteriorated. Therefore, more and more people become suspisus on the functioning of tour guide service management company, and even some people believe that tour guide service management company should be abandoned.In other countries, the guide is a kind of socialized freelancers, which is to be managed by industrial associations, but in view of existing conditions, the efficacious management can not be reached at once, it takes a while. So necessary measures should be taken to improve the guide service management company's functions.This paper is based on the social background of professional tour guides and tour management in the social dilemma. It stated out the problems in the functioning of guide service mangeement company from the definition, functions, status and other aspects of tour guide service management organization. And then combined with the new trende of socialization of guide career, it gives a in-depth analysis for the functions and development directions to the guide service management company and offer the new requirements and specific implementing methods under the new circumstance.This paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter I: The auther presents the background of this study and gives a brief analysis of the status quo of the management of domestic and foreign tour guides.Chapter II is a guide to explore the theory of professional socialization and the trends of socilization of tour guides. In particular, this chapter lined definition on the concept of the tour guide and socilzation of tour guide. In addition, the author also provides the orignal meanings and significance of socilzation of tour guide and points out that the socialization is an inevitable trend.Chapter III, the author started from the functions given to our guide service management companies and then indicated the exsting problems, and analyzed the factors which affect the functions of management companies one by oneChapter IV, the authors studies on the various causes which restricted the improvement of functions of tour guide service management company, from legal relationship, human resources, psychological state guides and then put forward difficulties a improvement may face, and f make the necessary groundwork for the following chapter.Chapter V is a strategy study for the improvement. The authors proposes in this chapter such ways as overall level of service improvement, renumeration guarantee, diversified services, rebuilding the reputation of guides, and helping guides to have social insurance and medical insurance system, which promote the socialzation of tour guides and finally to reach the aims of effective management and protection of rights.Chapter VI is the conclusion.
