| Since the1980s, the global economy has changed from the "industrial economy" to "service economy", the development of the modern service industry has caught more and more interest and attention. Rapid development of modern service industries is concentrated in the Pearl River Delta region, Yangtze River Delta, Bohai economic circle. The total size of the modern service industry in these three areas is top of all provinces. Including many industries, modern service industry is not balanced among regions and industries, which makes the stimulating effect of modern service industry in regional economy different. This paper, tries to comparatively study the industrial efficiency of the agglomerate industries in the three economic circles, so as to obtain the trajectory and characteristics of modern service industry development, and explore ways to accelerate the development of modern service industry.By hackling the status of previous studies, this paper firstly defines the content and classification of modern service industry. Then based on the theoretical analysis, it calculates the location quotient of industries in the three economic circles from the outside and inside, to select the agglomerate industries.Using data envelopment analysis(DEA) to comparatively study the productive efficiency of modern service industry in the three economic circles from the region and the industry dimensions. Finally this paper makes some proposition for speeding up the development of modern service industry in the Pearl River Delta.This article draws a conclusion from the comparative study of efficiency of the three major agglomerate industries: information transmission, computer services and software industry is in a best situation in general, and is the most balanced in the three economic circles; finance takes a second place , which is more efficient in Yangtze River Delta, and it changed greatly during the industrial efficiency in Pearl River Delta, and is imbalances in Bohai economic circle; Leasing and Business Services gets a lowest average overall efficiency, there are various problems in the three economic circles.This article attempts to make some innovation: using a new analysis framework for refining study; using regional entropy for exploring agglomerate degree; proposing a new concept"agglomerate industries"; using data envelopment analysis(DEA) for measuring efficiency of modern service industry. |
