The Research On The Cluster Development Of Beijing Cultural And Creative Industries

The present shortage of natural resources and environmental deterioration brings forward a worldwide issue that how to transform the way of economical development despite the restriction of environment. As a new blood of industrial economy, creative industry is a promising industry for its potentiality of wealth accumulation and employment creation, which attracts much attention from different countries all over the world. With high-tech to recreate and upgrade cultural resources, men of wisdom, skills and talents transform culture resources into highly value-added products through exploration and utilization of intellectual property. Creative industry, a significant symbol and the essence of the integrated competitive power for a city, brings Beijing the historical opportunity with new method of development during its construction of a creative city.The cluster development of creative industry arouses the passion of independent innovation of a company and upgrades the output and efficiency of creative resources, which are favorable for the share of cultural and intellectual resources as well as saving the cost of operation so as to produce scale and association effects. According to the distribution of economic plan proposed by the local government, twenty-three creative clusters have been confirmed, all of which maintain good momentum of growth at present. With the expanding scale and the increasing number of creative clusters, radiation and concentration effects of these clusters become so remarkable that cultural and creative industry gradually functions as a new engine to drive Beijing's economy.This paper analyzes the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of Beijing's creative clusters through the research on the comparative advantages, opportunities of further development and the market prospects, so as to pinpoint the difficulties and propose the responding suggestions for the development of cultural and creative clusters. It is hoped that this thesis will provide helpful references to solve problems such as human resources shortage, realization of the product value, protection of intellectual property and so on, so as to promote healthy and rapid development of creative industry in Beijing.This paper consists of five chapters. Chapter one mainly introduces the related definitions concerning cultural and creative industries. Chapter two discusses the history and the present situation of creative clusters'development in Beijing. Chapter three analyzes cultural and creative clusters with the method of SWOT, after which the existing problems are figured and corresponding suggestions are proposed. Finally, chapter four gives the conclusion of this paper.
