Research On Factors On The Performance Of Business Incubators

This paper develops a model of performance impact factors of science and technology business incubators.First, incubator performance-related literature and theories are reviewed, including the incubator concept, classification, and roles; development factors of the incubator, incubation ability and incubation performance, and their intrinsic relationship.Secondly, survey method is used to collect data, with effective samples of 96 from 150 national technology business incubators covering more than 25 provinces or cities. The SPSS is employed for data analysis to verify.A case study is conducted to further confirm the main conclusion. The case selected is Shenzhen, Nanshan District Science and Technology Business Incubator.Conclusions from this study are 1) incubator development factors have a positive impact on incubator performance; 2) incubator development factors have a positive impact on incubator capability; 3) incubation capability plays an intermediary between the linkage of incubator development factors and incubator performance.
