Research On The International Competitiveness Of Paper Industry In China

Paper industry is a fundamental one of a country, which owns a great influence on the development of the whole economy, this thesis makes a research on the international competitiveness of our paper industry.Basing on the data of world paper industry in the year 2008 and China paper industry in the year 2009,the thesis makes an analysis on the development of paper industry both at home and abroad. The thesis does quantitative calculation about paper products selecting International Market Share, Trade Competitiveness and Revealed Comparative Advantage. We can conclude although the international competitiveness of our paper industry has advanced greatly, it is still weak now. The thesis constitutes a time serial prediction model to predict the international development space of our paper industry, the result shows increase space and potential of our paper industry will still be huge. Moreover, the thesis adopts Porter's "diamond theory" model to make qualitative analysis on our paper industry. Want of raw material restricts the development of paper industry, however, good demand conditions and a series of government policies can promote the development greatly. In order to know about the international competitiveness of structure of paper species,this thesis analyses the production, consumption, import and export of news paper, uncoated printing and writing paper, coated printing paper, household and sanitary paper, packing paper and board and specialty paper and board.Finally, basing on the above theory analysis, the thesis promotes countermeasure and suggestions improving the international competitiveness of our paper industry from the aspects of governments, industry associations and enterprises.Governments need to courage forest-paper integration, intensify environmental protection and put "industry access" into effect. Industry associations need to enhance communication, coordination and research and escort the development of paper industry. Enterprises need to attach importance to personnel training, carry out forest-paper integration positively, devote major efforts to develop circular economy and strive to expand new markets.
