The top pressure is one of the most important parameters in the blast furnace control system. In the production process, optimizing production operation and ensuring stable operation of blast furnace are necessary. Otherwise, some abnormal BF conditions may occur, such as blast furnace slipping, hanging, or maladjustments. To overcome the considerable fluctuation, strong coupling and nonlinearity of the blast furnace, Fuzzy Algorithm is used to improve the original PID controller, and the hybrid control method based on fuzzy-PID is proposed in this paper to design the blast furnace top pressure control system. It is applied to a 2200m3 blast furnace in the Lianyuan Iron and Steel Company, which shows that the new method reduces the fluctuation of the top pressure, and decreases the coke ratio. Therefore, it is of great guiding significance for the process of blast furnace.Based on the analysis of the process flow of a 2200m3 blast furnace and the present situation of top pressure control system, the fuzzy-PID control scheme is proposed, according to the design requirement of the pressure control of the blast furnace floor. The control scheme includes the fuzzy-PID control theory, the block diagram of the overall process control, the system hardware design and the system working principle.In this paper, the intelligent integrating control system of the top pressure is developed by SIMATIC PCS7, Programming Language CFC, Multi-user capabilities of the HMI components and OPC technology. The algorithm is of high-performance, and the method can be used in the top pressure control of the blast furnace with good effects. The application results of the top pressure control system show that the fuzzy-PID control system is able to enhance the anti-interference ability, and the control accuracy is increased to±1.5%(±3KPa). Meanwhile, the carbon dioxide content is improved to 0.5%, which means that the efficiency of iron reduction is improving and the content of CO is reducing.
