In view that current imported rig maintenance cost high and the time long, and the mobility of domestic drilling rig is weak, in reference to the successful experience of the foreign similar rig. In this paper, the design of the all hydraulic power head type drilling rig.. The whole drilling rig can be easily broken into 9 pieces The most units of electrical and hydraulic system are homebred, which make the cost lower and maintains period shorter. This design completed the design contents as follows:(1) The structure design of mast and its material selection. Choose the material types after ensuring the structure of mast as wielding truss. Analysis the forces applied under two dangerous work conditions. Then find out the weakness of mast system and strengthen them.(2) Power system selection. Analysis of the characteristics of common power output system, then select diesel engine as prime mover.The work out the steady working area of diesel-hydraulic motor system through load characteristic and experiment result of diesel engine, and ensure the speed range of the engine.(3) Selection of hydraulic rotator. The output parameters of hydraulic motor was calculated. Determined the power outputs of the rotation unit according to the drilling conditions and operation requirements. Selected the appropriate gear box, speed reducer and hydraulic chuck, then completed selection of hydraulic rotator.(4) The design of electrical system. The electrical system of this device could be parted into two parts. The ECM system and functional monitor device made up engine monitor loop. The main unit of safe protection was relay. Drawn the electrical circuit diagram at last.(5) The design of sub hydraulic system. Analyses the actions that need during deployment and drilling process. Select proper hydraulic actuators. The form sub-circuit based on the selected hydraulic actuators, and draw their hydraulic diagram. Integrate all sub-circuits to form the complete hydraulic loop diagram.
