High-shrinkage polyamide newly developed which is of great significance to enrich thespecies of differential fiber. Seamless knitted garments keep close to the body and have certainbody sharing effects because of its shaping one time and the elastic yarns such as nylon andpolyamide Lycra covered yarns in it. The development of high-shrinkage nylon creates morepossibility for the improvement of the wearability of the seamless knitted fabric. After studyingthe physical and mechanical properties of high-shrinkage polyamide, this issue applies it toseamless knitted garment and designs17kinds of high-shrinkage polyamide seamless knittedgarments which consist of two main kinds of fabrics: FA and FB. FA is the term of8fabrics whoseground yarn is two-fold nylon and tie-in yarns are high-shrinkage polyamide and commonpolyamide respectively combined with four kinds of texture and FB is the term of9fabrics whoseground yarn and tie-in yarn are two-fold nylon and high-shrinkage polyamide respectively. Thisissue provides some references for the design and manufacture of high-shrinkage polyamide inseamless knitted fabrics.High-shrinkage polyamide has lower crystallinity and a little higher moisture regain thancommon polyamide fiber. Because the shrinkage rate of high-shrinkage polyamide is just10%after being treated to heated dry air however up to40%treated by boiling water, it is a betterway to finish the high-shrinkage polyamide seamless knitted fabrics by boiling water. Afterprocessed by boiling water, the breaking strength declines slightly and both breaking elongationand elastic recovery rate raise of high-shrinkage polyamide.For the kind of FA fabrics with the same texture, high-shrinkage polyamide fabrics have abetter property in terms of absorption, air permeability, rigid-flexible and elastic recovery andpoorer in terms of heat retention and bursting strength; as for wrinkle recovery, pilling resistanceand water vapor permeability both high-shrinkage and common polyamide fabrics have noregular change, but it is particularly needed to point out that the wrinkle recovery of1+1mockrib high-shrinkage polyamide fabrics is particularly better than common polyamide fabrics. Form the comprehensive evaluation results it can be seen that3+1mock rib high-shrinkage seamlessknitted fabrics have the best comprehensive performance. High-shrinkage polyamide has certainpromotion impact on comprehensive property of physico-mechanical and thermohydro-comfort.After research on FB fabrics it is found that crepe high-shrinkage polyamide fabrics withplating stitch have better creping ability and are more thick and loosen but stiff and rough thanfabrics with laid-in stitch. The length increasing of float can improve the loosen property andtensile elongation but has a negative effect in terms of compressive restitutive rate, bendingdeformation and surface property. The9fabrics belonged to FB type fabrics can be classified into3species:1) this kind of fabric consists of FB1, FB2, FB4and FB5in the characteristic of thick, stiff,chubbiness but rough handle;2) this kind of fabric consists of FB3and FB6in the characteristic ofmedium thickness, easy deformation and poor deformation recovery ability;3) this kind of fabricconsists of FB7, FB8and FB9in the characteristic of lightweight and soft and smooth handle.On the basis of the research results, a suit of women’s seamless underwear for autumn andwinter use is designed. The purpose is applying the theory to practical production to verify theapplication value and the prospect of high-shrinkage polyamide in seamless knitted garments.
