The paper ascertains the wood radial texture parameters of samples and studies the law of the radial visual characteristics on the chair through simulating radial texture samples,based on the modern wooden chair,market research and radial texture visual physical parameters of the radial textures of wood.In addition, the paper chooses the leg,the typical components of modern solid wood chair,as the object of study and verifies reliability of the result of the experiment about artificial simulated radial texture samples.The results are as follows:(1)The radial textures can be divided into three classes,the representative tree species respectively are Pine、Spruce、Oak、Manchurian ash、Walunt、Teak、Cedarwood、Mkuruti; Camphorwood、Catalpa wood、Maple、Birch、Walunt、Teak、Cherry、Zebrano;Cherry、Rose wood、Beech、Elm。The characteristics are:①the average width of the radial textures are 0.671 mm,0.948 mm and 1.239 mm,ranging from 0.216mm~1.582 mm,0.581~2.132 mm and 0.869mm~2.325mm;②the average spacing of the radial textures are 4.316 mm,6.643 mm and 9.912 mm,ranging from 3.306mm~5.423 mm,5.596mm~8.105 mm and 8.658mm~12.018mm;③the degree of texture density of the radial textures are 0.154,0.142 and 0.124,ranging from 0.077~0.349,0.078~0.279 and 0.090~0.225.(2)While the width ranging from 40~150mm,the samples have the highest degree of perference when the degree of density is 0.15;while the width ranging from 200~400mm,the samples have the highest degree of perference when the degree of density is 0.20.(3)While the width ranging from 40~60mm,the samples have the highest degree of perference when the differential changes of the texture width and spacing are 0.02 mm and 0.2mm;while the width is 150 mm,the samples have the highest degree of perference when the differential changes of the texture width and spacing are 0.04 mm and 0.4mm;while the width is 400 mm,the samples have the highest degree of perference when the differential changes of the texture width and spacing are 0.06 mm and 0.4mm.(4)While the width ranging from 40~80mm,the bending shape 2 has the highest degree of perference;while the width dimension ranges from 100~150mm,the bending shape 3 has the highest degree of perference;while the width dimension ranges from 200~400mm,the bending shape 4 has the highest degree of perference.(5)In terms of the degree of density and bending shape,the simulated radial texture samples and the actual samples have the same influence on the law of the degree of preference,however there are little differences in the aspect of scores.
