With the quick development of our industrialization, saving water is more and more important. As an all-around technology related to many fields, water curing will be playing a particular and important pole. It is the only way that the scale inhibition is used in the cooling water for saving the resource.According to the properties of acrylic acid series polymer of scale inhibition. A kind of amphiprotic tercopolymer of acrylic acid (AA), acrylamide (AM) and dimethyldiallylammonium chloride (DMDAAC) is synthesised, with water as solvent, persulfate and hypophosphate as initiator. Through the tests, the copolymer can show the good scale inhibiting effect and bactericidal action, and become a multifunctional scale inhibition.The different compositions of the copolymer scale inhibition are designed by uniform design and orthogonal design, and a series of amphiprotic tercopolymer scale inhibition were synthesised by radical polymerization. The structures have been characterized by infrared spectrum and thermal analysis. Factors such as the proportion of AA/AM, the dosage of DMDAAC and the initiating agents effecting the efficiency of scale inhibition were discussed by the qualitative index for instance the content of solid phase, viscosity (molecular weight) , percentage of scale inhibition , the content of quaternary ammonium salt and the percentage of bactericidal action. The reaction temperatures, reaction time of polymerization were investigated. Then the optimum design was established. On the base, a distinct regression equation was educed after the regression analysis of the copolymer.
