In recent years, the accidents on road transport of dangerous chemicals (RTDC) were on the rise, it did great harm to us. And now the RTDC safety problem was becoming the one that people commonly paid attention to. As current research findings about it limited at qualitative analysis, the paper laid more emphasis on the safety assessment index system and made safety assessment on it.1. Aim at the safety condition present, it told us the necessity to make safety assessment.2. The paper analyzed safety assessment inside and abroad, made a comparison on different methods, bring forward a comprehensive assessment method corresponding to the RTDC safety of our country.3. Based on the inherent property of chemicals, the paper studied the characteristic of the accidents of our country. From the aspect of the influencing factors of RTDC, the paper studied the inherent property of chemicals, analyzed and discussed the main accident causes of RTDC of our country.4. The paper analyzed the accident causes from the aspect of synthetical engineering and built the safety sub-system on RTDC considering the property of RTDC and consulting with the principles of setting up a commonly evaluation system. It made the indexes in brief with optimization and made the indexes quantifiable and assured the weight of every index by AHP.5. Based on fussy mathematics, the paper built the RTDC safety comprehensive evaluation model. It brought us an efficient method of safety assessment to study RTDC safety. It made RTDC safety of our country for example and proved to be practical and productive.
