"Long-term project, quality first" is the basic principles of engineering and construction work. In the 21st century, with China's rapid development of economic, the construction industry entered a golden period of rapid development. As China's development and progress of the construction industry, more stringent requirements are needed for the quality of building materials. As one of the most important materials steel structures, steel directly affects the quality of construction quality. How to use the scientific method to optimize and improve the overall performance of steel quality is to be solved.The premise of optimizing and improving the quality of steel products is scientific evaluation and quantification of the quality of steel. The quality of construction steel is not a single indicator, but the combination of factors. Based on this consideration, in order to achieve the quality of steel composite index, we use multi-objective comprehensive evaluation to build construction steel quality assessment model. including index selection, index dimensionless, index empowerment, choice of utility function of a number of indicators of the content. After this, company A is selected as research subject for orthogonal experimental design to improve the quality of steel. Analysis of range and ariance are used for experimental results to find the key factors affect the quality of steel and to obtain excellent level. The results show that the orthogonal design can improve the quality of the steel business.
