Construction technical and vocational education is the foundation of the development of construction industry in Sichuan Province. There were a lot of students graduated from construction technical secondary school every year in the past. Most of them got a good job and made achievement in the occupational area of construction industry. Compared with the rapid development of construction industry, construction Technical Secondary Education lag behind the industry in the educational idea, the goal and the model of education. Along with the reform in the education system, many construction technical secondary schools found difficulty in the development of themselves. Now the vocational and technical education system reform is going on, and there抯 much discuss and practice about how to develop the vocational and technical secondary education, but few about the research on the development of construction vocational and technical secondary education. After working in the Chengdu Construction School for 5 years, the author realized that the construction vocational arid technical secondary education must combine with the development of construction industry and deepen the education reform in the socialism market economy system. The school must meet the requirement for the practitioners of the construction industry.There are some elements that interfere in the development of the construction technical secondary education. The author tried to research4the way of the development of the construction technical secondary education from the inside.The way is determined by the actuality of the development of the construction industry and the education in Sichuan Province. Analyzing the actuality, the author considered that there were two aspects showing that the construction technical secondary education developed more slowly than the construction industry. One was the number of the student trained by the technical secondary school, another was that the student couldn抰 learn the skill that represented the real needs of the occupation in the school. Thinking of the general education抯 progress and the development of the science and technology in the new century, the author considered that if the conventional technical secondary education didn抰 reform, it couldn抰 be adaptable to the change of the requirements of the occupational area. It抯 important for the construction technical secondary education to take the opportunity that the government抯 deepening the reform of the vocational education system. If they wanted to make well circular development in the future, they should change the conventional idea of the technical secondary education, the education goal and model, set up the competency-based training model, erect new available system of running the school actively, increase the benefit.By the author抯 own ability and her current level, the thought putting forward by her about the way of the development of the construction technical secondary education was limited. She hoped that the elder and the professional of the same occupation would point out the mistakes so they could be corrected.
