Continuing education is very important for the development of the construction industry and enterprises,and it is also the main way to improve the skill level and employment and entrepreneurship ability of construction industry practitioners.Strengthening continuing education of employees in the construction industry and establishment of a sound system of continuing education for all employees are important approaches of promoting the modernization of the construction industry,and speed up the construction industry's construction of a skilled workforce,and they are inevitable requirement to improve the independent innovation capacity and core competitiveness of construction enterprises.With the changes in the development situation of the construction industry,how to develop and adjust the policy of continuing education for construction industry employees and strengthening the training of construction personnel have become the key factors to influence and promote the development of construction enterprises in Fujian Province.This paper analyzes the problems of continuing education for construction workers in Fujian Province and then tries to solve these problems.First,this paper describes the background and significance of the study.The literature review focuses on the system construction,training methods,financial guarantee,and reform measures of the construction industry employees' continuing education and vocational training.Then the research objectives are presented and the research ideas and methods are identified.Modernization of the construction industry is an inevitable trend in the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry and is a higher demand for the development of practitioners.Secondly,based on the analysis of the development of the construction industry and the quality of the workforce in Fujian Province,this paper uses system theory to analyze the operation system of continuing education for the construction employees in Fujian Province and conducts SWOT analysis of it.Combining the questionnaire survey and study on continuing education of the construction professionals and workers and the requirements for the transformation and upgrading and the modernization of the construction industry in Fujian Province,this paper identifies the problems the outstanding problems of continuing education for construction workers in the province and analyzes the causes of these problems.Then,based on the summary of the experience of continuing education in developed capitalist countries such as the United States,the United Kingdom,Germany,and Japan,this paper argues that we should learn the successful experience(strengthening the legal safeguards for continuing education,the implementation of lifelong education and learning,providing the financial security for the education,etc.)of these countries to improve our country's continuing education development model.Finally,combining the advanced foreign experience and the requirements for the modernization of the construction industry in Fujian Province,this paper proposes countermeasures around strengthening legal and financial security,establishing a licensing system,improving supervision and management mechanisms,and implementing a practicing name system to cultivate construction industry workers to solve the four problems of continuing education for construction workers in Fujian Province.And the paper also puts forward suggestions on improving and adjusting the mode of continuing education for construction personnel in the province,which will provide a reference for strengthening the quality training of construction personnel in Fujian Province.
