At present time, the tank pneumatic transporter applies widely in many industries such as power plant, mine, metallurgy and chemistry, but the control mode of tanks is mainly the simple on-off mode. The most parts of pneumatic transporter cannot regulate its parameters appropriately according to the variety of produce conditions. So, the inefficient conveying and blocking up the pipe is inevitable. Of course, we can introduce the DCS system into the tank control system, but the exorbitant price will hold off the consumers. Accordingly, it is very necessary to seek after a controller that can regulate automatically and is in possession of the low-cost virtue.Based on studying the practice of tanks and the control demand, the paper explores a kind of tank control system which possesses brainpower to a certain extent. Firstly, the paper analyzes the function demands of tank controller in industry. Confirm meeting these commands and reliability, we designed a special tank control system which based on Single Chip Microcomputer (MCU) and centered on the digital PID control arithmetic. The tank controller we designed establishs in the practice experience, and we make great efforts to improve the efficiency of conveying ashes. Aim at fitting the variational configuration of different tanks, the control system can adjust most control parameters by means of handling the keyboard. The virtue allows the controller offering many flexible control modes for user. To satisfy the demand of data supervisal and remote control, additional research is focus on realizing the real-time monitor and control via the serial communication interface.
