Terminals Of The Meter Reading Automation System Based On Gprs And Sms Development

The way for meter reading of Chinese electric power system is by manual work. Using information technology to update this can enhance efficiency and lower expense. This paper introduces a terminal equipment ( TE ) designed for wireless automatic meter reading system based on MC35 GPRS module, which can switch communication mode between GPRS and SMS. This TE communicates with PC station by a kind of protocol to finish the data reading work.The first chapter introduces the background and the signification of this project. Chapter two introduces the general structure of GPRS network. The communication protocol of this system is given out in the third chapter. In chapter four, we describe the whole structure of hardware and software of TE. The last chapter gives a conclusion for this paper and analyzes the developing trend of meter reading system.
