In structural analysis and design, real building would be converted to analysis model which is determined by structure style, complexity , member dimension and so on. Each model contains merits, faults and fields of application of its own. Selection of model determines the rationality of structural analysis and design.This paper mainly discusses several issues in concrete structure design based on PKPM software, which includs the comparison of different ways to model sub-beam, tie beam and short-leg shear wall. This paper first introduces the element types used in analysis module SATWE, then compares the difference between models in preprocessing, structural analysis and post-processing. In order to compare the numerical results of different models, this paper deals with plenty of examples by using SATWE module, then compares with the numerical results of finite element software ANSYS. This paper writes secondary treatment program to integrate the stress figured out by ANSYS. Through the analysis and comparison, this paper affirms the calculation's validity of SATWE, and gives some advice on calculation and force reduction of sub-beam, calculation precision of tie beam and so on.This paper mainly draws three conclusions as show below:1) Through the comparison of different ways to model sub-beam, this paper points out the difference between models in preprocessing, structural analysis and post-processing. According to the comparison of numerical results, this paper points out the influence of structure style, boundary conditions and parameters, finds out the fields of application for different models. Basing on the comparison with foreign codes, this paper affirms the calculation's validity and gives advice on calculation and force reduction which coincides codes better;2) Through the comparison of different ways to model tie beam, this paper points out the difference between models in preprocessing, structural analysis and post-processing. According to the comparison of numerical results with the variation of span-depth ratios, this paper points out the difference in structure attributes and member force between models, finds out the main influencing factors in calculation and the variation of numerical results to span-depth ratio. By means of secondary treatment program which integrates the stress figured out by ANSYS, this paper compares the numerical results between ANSYS and SATWE, then points out the calculation precision and fields of application for different models and gives suggestions;3 ) Through the comparison of different ways to model short-leg shear wall, this paperpoints out the difference between models in preprocessing, structural analysis andpost-processing. According to the comparison of numerical results for differentcross-section types and length-width ratios, this paper points out the difference instructure attributes and member force between models, finds out main influencingfactors in calculation and the variation of numerical results to length-width ratio. Basedon the comparison of numerical results between ANSYS and SATWE, this paper pointsout the calculation precision and fields of application for different models.When compares the difference between models, this paper adopts the method whichsummarises numerical results, finds out reasons, analyses main influencing factors and comparesnumerical results with authoritative software's.
