It is difficult to realize the multi-position supervisory and the comprehensive effective management to the construction process of the highway project. In order to solve the difficulty to design the computer network over wires and to realize the real-time monitoring on construction locale, the research based on the wireless network highway construction supervisory system is brought out.The paper introduces the technologies of video flow supervisory and of wireless network, and carries on the wireless network planning according to the wireless network design method. The wireless network covers He-Bei section of Jin-Shan highway according to the construction supervisory actual demand. The wireless network uses the standard of ISM frequency band IEEE802.11b, and carries on the wireless network design. Through actualizing the preliminary localization of the base station and the signal intensity distribution, adjust the position of base station. We determine the central base station and a relaying base station position by the actual method unifies and the model analysis. It is tested that the transmit platform of the wireless network meets the actual need of system.Adopting the customer/server pattern and the Winsock technical design, the wireless network highway construction supervisory system has realized the functions both network real-time transmission and long-distance control using the MPEG-4 form video flow. Front monitor station gathers compresses and carries on video flow through the camera and then etwork video server. In addition, it carries on receive of video data and realizes wireless network video supervisory through the network video server in the supervisory center. The client terminal can carry on the network video supervisory through the IE browser or installment of the client terminal software, and realize the long-distance control of the camera and rapes through the serial port. Through the system test, the wireless network video supervisory system satisfies the request of construction locale supervisory to the highway, which has met the requirement to promote in the high speed construction video supervisory.
