In recent years, with the rapid development of China's economy and foreign trade, the intemational container transportation of China has been developing boundly. In order to satisfy the rapid increase of international container throughput during recent years, many ports of china mainland have endeavored to construct new container terminals or reformed their already existing terminals by adding more equipments .A new wave of port construction is taking place in china. The container throughput of NingBo Port has beening increasing on the average rate of above 42% for 6 years consecutively . The container throughput of 2005 surpassed 5.2 million TEU. To satisfy the fast increase of container throughput ,the port of NingBo has constructed some new terminals as well as enlarged the capacities of old ones.As one major terminal of NingBo Port ,The BeiLun Second Container Terminal Co.,Ltd of NingBo Port bears the heavy task to enlarge its capacity to suit the development of the new trend. This paper studies on the configuration of quayside container crane of container terminal ,hoping to be refered to for quayside container crane adding in The BeiLun Second Container Terminal Co.,Ltd in the future. In the paper, firstly, we introduce the background ,purpose ,content and reserch method of the paper ,as well as some related knowage of this research field. Then after the introduction of Beilun Second Container Terminal Co Ltd., we present the existing problems of configuration of quayside container crane at this terminal. In the next step, we do some research on the factors which affecting the configuration of quayside container crane at...
