Green Design Theory And Applied Research

Traditional design is mostly made according to the indexes such as performance, quality and cost of products. In this process, the aspects of products' maintenance, disassembly, recycling, the treatment of discarded products and the influence to environment are seldom considered. The products designed by traditional way cannot be effectively reclaimed at the end of their life, and will lead to environment pollution in their whole process life circle, great waste of resources and affect the durative of economic development.Green design is an international design tide beginning from 1980s'. Rationally selecting raw materials, structures and processes according to environment protection index is demanded in green design, and thus the energy cost can be decreased, the poison can be prevented. Simultaneously, the products are apt to be disassembled and reclaimed, and the reclaimed materials can be used in reproducing.More encyclopedical knowledge, responsibility to durative development, perspicuous theory and design system are demanded for the designer in green design. Thus, the research on feasible green design methods and design process is very necessary.In this paper, the disadvantage effects that products bring to environment are analyzed firstly, and then the concept, history, actuality and developing trend is introduced, and the relationship of green design and traditional design is analyzed. On this basis, the design methods and flow are summarized, and the green packing design is analyzed and discussed detailed, and the evaluating method of life circle and disfigurements and problem in its running process are discussed. At last, a mobile phone design is illustrated in this paper.
