| Environmental Visual Identity system is a media for communications, where the spatial identities of environment and cognizing of humans cross together. For those ancient Chinese towns combining traditional Chinese culture and humanism landscape, they are currently facing some new challenges such as how to emphasize the feelings of tourists while unveiling the profound meaning of spaces of ancient towns and place themselves harmoniously with the context.Through a serial of analysis of the interactive relationship between the behavior of tourists and graphic identity design, the possible approach which has been argued in this theses is to create a language linking the spatial identities and historical and cultural contexts of those ancient towns. The unveiled graphic identities reflect the needs and behavior of tourists and meantime, cover the integrated special identities and profound meaning of culture and spaces.The theses is consisted of three parts, first part focuses on the analysis of special identities and behavior of tourists which is affected by the unique spaces. The second part unveils the meaning of identity design of ancient towns through geographical research; the third part concludes the proposed relationship between spatial language and travel graphic designs through on site investigations and questionnaires. |
