As an energy storage equipment, storage battery have the virtue of voltage stabilization, power supply credibility,carrying convenience.Monitoring the running condition of storage battery and regular maintenance which means charging and discharging evenly are absolutely necessary ways of extending the service life of storage battery and ensure normal work. Charging and discharging technology, born with the invention of Storage Battery, also has the close relation with the development and application of Storage Battery.The Storage Battery Charging and Discharging Monitoring Integrated System mentioned in this paper is made of data logger and Charging and Discharging Monitoring System.They cooperate with each other and can monitor changes in 1-4 batteries' voltage and current. Data logger takes micro-electronics chip- DS2438 as mensurative chip, which specially used for battery checking. That predigests the measure circuit greatly, and makes it convenient for the measuring and communication of the system. Monitoring System based on RS-232, receives datas from data logger about voltage and current. Those datas will be real-time displayed as curves or graphs. In addition, the system can give an alarm depending on alarm conditions. All the more, all datas received will be saved to ACCESS database for querying and printing. Further more; we can export a report to EXCEL for further processing. This monitoring system is applicable for storage battery testing in electric bicycle and storage battery manufactories. Using the system, it would lighten workload to testers, improve testing efficiency, and help us to analyze battery performance easily with its discharging curves.The excellence in this study is as follows: As for the functions of the new instrument, it is used to monitor the battery's performance on-linely and real-timely not only when the battery is on floating charging but also in the course of charging and discharging. The precision, automation and intelligence of the monitoring system for battery are greatly improved. The success of the new research design is to entend battery's service life and improves working eficiency which is positive to make the battery's maintenance better. The users' faceplate of this system is made of simulated instrument panel. All operations can be completed with simple buttons or menus which are direct, frinendly which will make it likely to be popular.
