Industrial Design Status Quo In Jiangsu Province Research

Jiangsu Province, which is located in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone, is one of the most economically developed provinces of China. Jiangsu's economic aggregation currently maintains the second place in the country. It is also one of the country's important manufacturing bases. However, at present, the majority of industrial enterprises in Jiangsu Province are still in the primary stage of manufacturing. According to the experience of Europe, the United States and some Asian countries, the change from the primary OEM model to the more senior ODM model is the fundamental way out for the development of the manufacturing sector, with industrial design being one of the decisive factors. To enhance the development of industrial design status of Jiangsu Province as soon as possible, we must have a more comprehensive understanding of its current situation. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research on Jiangsu's industrial design.First, design-related statistics of the major cities of the neighboring provinces of Jiangsu should be collected. Factor analysis should be used to identify the evaluation standards of the areas' industrial design level, so as to further conduct a macro evaluation of such levels of all the cities in Jiangsu. Second, a survey on some manufacturing enterprises in Jiangsu Province should be conducted, so as to have a microscopic view of real situation of the province's development of industrial design.In the process of research on cities, two major factors - the level of development of industrial enterprises and the scientific research level, which are obtained through factor analysis, are treated as the evaluation standards to reflect the level of the areas' industrial design. Besides, as is shown by the survey on manufacturing enterprises in the province, most enterprises have a long exposure and more understanding of industrial design. However, their exposure to design creativity is not enough. And most medium-sized and small enterprises are unable to support an integrated designing department. Therefore, the demand for professional industrial designing companies is increasing within the province.The result above research will be more reference to the development of industrial design.
