The super sweet corn, hybrid generation F1(stable inbred line 113♂×stable inbred line 152♀),named as Jinyutian 1(Wentianpin 2)and selected as a new species of sweet corn by germplasm improvement and tests of inbred lines during 2001-2004 in Wenzhou Academy of Agricultural Science, has finished 2 years' regional tests(2005-2006)in Zhejiang province.Systematic studies were carried out on seed production,high-yielding techniques, local south-breeding of inbred lines, and variety comparison.1.Inbred lines 113(♀)of sweet corn were selected with superior quality, high combining abilities, stable heredities, and short stems after introduction of foreign germplasms.Inbred lines 152♀were selected with high combining abilities, stable heredities, high tolerance to heat and cold, and broad adaptability after introduction of Taiwan species Hwazhen by conventional breeding. The hybrid generation Wentianpin 2(113♂×152♀)is good at biological traits(high yielding, high tolerance)and it has finished regional tests in 2005-2006 by obtaining a national certificate in Zhejiang province.2.New hybrid combinations of dominant character utilization on sweet corn were made up by mating both foreign excellent germplasms and domestic germplasms(high yielding, high combining abilities).3.High yielding techniques and seed production techniques were studied. It is important that corn be set for 3200-3500 individuals per 2 Mu(1334 m~2)and be harvested at appropriate time;both individuals of♂and♀be sown with an intermittence of 8-9 days, whereas♀ahead of♂.4.Industrializational development of Wentianpin 2 was studied for acceleration of municipal industrialization of sweet corn by taking scientific studies, agronomical production, and marketing as a whole.
