With the implement of the new curriculum reform, more people have a better understanding about the compulsory module. While the surveys on the elective course module are relatively less due to its short-time appearance and different content from the old materials. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the teaching of elective modules.《Organic chemistry basis》was one elective course module of senior high school chemistry. However, does this new module can thoroughly reflect the ideas of the new curriculum reform? What are the problems on the learning process of students?In this paper, a study for the investigation on the student of Jin Lin city No.1 high school china. Through careful research and analysis, finding out whether they can fully understand its function and content as well as the distribution of teaching time, the main teaching methods and the confusion in teaching. The results show that most of the students could realize the importance of organic chemistry and formulate some plan. However, less number of students have problems on learning method and self controlling. The author's solution to these problems is that teachers change their concept both ideology and psychologically and improve teaching through consistent learning and exploration.
