The training of students'extracurricular reading and writing abilities is one of the important components of Chinese Teaching goals. In recent years, with the New Curricular Concept striking root in the hearts of the people, schools at different levels, one after another, are trying to excavate its benefits. It is well known that learning to read could change one's life, but over-utilitarianism existing in today's Chinese teaching in middle schools causes certain confusion to teachers and students'outside class reading and writing activities. Therefore, it is necessary to build up an effective integrated model system among extracurricular reading materials, students and writing trainings.Combining the theoretical achievements of relevant modern reading theories and educational psychological theories, and through the exploration to the factors of effective extracurricular reading and writing models for middle school students, such as their reading and writing interests, habits, methods, and motivations, the thesis makes an attempt to put forward a teaching and learning model of "receiving-expressing", which suggests to enable students to change their information obtained from reading into their accomplishments, by way of exploring efficient outside class reading and writing activities. The co-existing property of extracurricular reading and writing also shows that the combining reading and writing form, which is student-based, can well enhance students of various learning ability levels to carry on effective outside class reading and writing, and the construction of effective outside reading and writing model can as well promote the maturation of students'reading and writing thinking and abilities.
