Sine 1980s,China has showed consistent concern and support for the development of boarding school. Boarding school is a kind of effective model in running a school,especially in ethnic minority areas.Under the attentions of all kinds of national policies,the building of boarding school has gradually becomes standardized. In recent years, with the implementation of some policies such as"the project of building boarding school"and"two exemptions and compensation",the education of boarding school has been developing quite well in the western regions, especially in ethnic minority areas. Taking the primary school of Liusan village of Yao ethnic group in Duan Yao Nationality Autonomous as the field site, from the angle of humanities, this article tries to learn about the development history and current situation of local boarding school,finding that being highly approved by local people, however, there are still many parctical problems. By studying the reasons for some problems, such as non- standard management system ,imperfect school buildings,students'characteristical problems and so on ,and analyzing the positive and negative effects of boarding school system on local education,this article can offer a reliable model for the education development of Yao minority areas.
