The structural adjustment of secondary normal school education is in line with the constant deepening of Chinese education reform and teacher education development. In the process of structure adjustment of normal education, the withdrawal of some schools, restructuring, upgrading and merging with the pedagogical academies or the normal junior colleges is inevitable historical development. The Normal school in different regions, according to the local economic development and the status quo of the basic education and under current conditions,to intensify the reforms and restructure reasonably, optimize the allocation of educational resources,improve the utilization rate of education resources, enhance the strength of running a school is a practical problem to be resolved. On the basis of improving the overall efficiency of the academies, government should have plans to promote the level of secondary normal schools,from level-3 to level-2 by the year 2010, which is the choice of medim normal schools'development and also the future direction.This paper will try to review the development of Fujian normal schools and set Fujian Xianyou Normal School as an example, through LBIO, educational survey, educational narrative and draw a conclusion:For secondary normal schools,which have a long history, rich education experience and a profound cultural background, during the "transition", "positioning", the government should get rid of stereotypes, emancipate the mind, according to the needs of the development of basic education, make full use of the national outstanding educational resources,to avoid engaging in "one size fits all" approach to basic education and have an active interest in the issue of teacher training. Finally, analyze the "conversion" model, especially on the disadvantages:the higher teacher education institutions should be able to inherit the excellent experience of secondary normal schools; rural secondary teacher education should retain and be supported; reasonably treat the education resources of secondary normal school.This paper fully affirm the rich educational experience of the secondary normal school in the long process, aiming to arouse the people to pay attention to teacher education and training.
