Problem-based learning (PBL), as a new instructional mode, which is welcomedby the majority of educational experts and front-line teachers. With the developmentof modern distance education of country elementary and middle schools, how to carryout the problem-based learning in the pattern three of modern distance education ofcountry elementary and middle schools and how to use the information-basedinstructional resources provided by pattern three for PBL, it is the topic of commonconcern by teachers in primary and middle schools in rural areas. We will consider tocarry out PBL in the pattern three of modern distance education of country elementaryand middle schools, how to choose and apply information-based instructionalresources in the pattern three of modern distance education of country elementary andmiddle schools, to be our research, because the choice and application of informationbasedinstructional resources is the important role of design of information-basedinstruction.First of all, the research interpreted the instruction pattern of problem-basedlearning (PBL) thoroughly. Secondly, it explored advantages of instruction of thepattern three, combining with technical characteristics of the pattern three of moderndistance education of country elementary and middle schools. Furthermore, it broughtforward the general principles about choice and application of information-basedinstructional resources, on the basis of detailed analysis characteristic and effect ofinformation-based instructional resources in the environment of pattern three. Finally,it aimed at two aspects about choice and application of information-based instructionalresources, and advanced the choice and application of strategy on information-basedinstructional resources which was carried out in PBL way in the pattern three ofmodern distance education of country elementary and middle schools.According to the foregoing theoretical research, author designed the case of PBLabout choice and application of information-based instructional resources titled"protect environment", together with the teachers of experimental school. Then, wevalidated the scientific and validity on how to choose and apply strategy ofinformation-based instructional resources in the pattern three of modern distanceeducation of country elementary and middle schools, through applying the case inpractice. At last, the conclusions of research are further completed and improved.
