Value orientation are the orientation formed by the accumulation ofsatisfaction. They are the guiding principles and value premises which directs oneman's strategic judgments and behaviors when he is working. ManagementPsychology defines value orientation as "the overall belief which directs people'sbehavior and strategic judgments in various working occasions".There is a close relationship between value orientation and managementbehavior. Certain value orientation can form certain needs. A manager shouldunderstand the value orientation of his subordinates sufficiently. Only on the basisof this understanding can the needs of the subordinates be satisfied, themanagement behavior of the manager be effective and his management purposebe realized. Otherwise the management effect will be badly compromised, or evenbecome ineffective management or negative management.At present, the middle age and young teachers in higher vocational educationhave taken up over 50% of the total number of higher vocational college teachers,and they are playing a more and more important role in the higher vocationalcolleges. Thus the value orientation of the young teachers will greatly influencethe campus culture and school discipline of the college. The managers of anyhigher vocational college should take the young teacher factor into account whenmaking relevant management policies. So it is quite necessary to conductinvestigation and analysis on the value orientation of the young teachers in highervocational education. Begin with the investigation of the value orientation of the young teachers, and then make relevant management counterplots. Only in thisway can the enthusiasm and creativeness of the young teachers be stimulated anda harmonious and vigorous campus be formed.This article selects 10 higher vocational colleges from different regions ofZhejiang as sample, tries to investigate and analyze the value orientation theyoung teachers in higher vocational education from various aspects including theirworld view, ethics, philosophy of interest, profession and life, and tries to conductmore sophisticated analysis with the differences in gender, age, educationalbackground, birth place, specialized field and professional title. On the basis ofthe above analysis, using relevant management science principles, this articlearrives at some corresponding management counterplots. Finally theseconclusions are demonstrated with the example of the young teacher managementsystem adopted by Zhejiang Industrial Polytechnic College.
