A Study On Income Gap Between Urban And Rural Residents In Gansu Province

Since the reform and opening up, with the socialist market economic systemgradu-ally established and improved, the income level of urban and rural residents has a substantial increase in Gansu, and the quality of life has a significant improvement. Per c-apita income of residents in Gansu increased by more than 10% In 2004, it means th-at economic and social development in Gansu has entered a new and critical phase. But at the same time the income gap is widening constantly, which makes the econom-ic and social contradictions further aggravated. Therefore, the problems of income distri-bution and income gap have become conspicuous in current economic and social devel-opment.Urban and rural residents' Income Gap has become an unavoidable reality problemof economic society. By analyzing the trends of urban andrural residents' income gap inGansu and the whole nation from reform and opening up to now shows that the enlargemeet of urban and rural residents' income gap in Gansu Provinceis the result of m-any factors. Overall, these factors can be divided into two kinds according to the theirnature: There are common factors and also personality factors of being slow developm-ent province.
