Since entering into the 21st century, the world faces an increasingly serious pollution problems, so environmental quality has become a central concern. Electronic manufacturing industry worldwide has endure the pressure from all aspects, including: the public, the national environmental regulations, quality standards IS014000 series, global competition and various customer requirements, therefore each company need to have environmental control to the entire supply chain as early as purchasing the basic raw materials.In order to meet the importing requirement from EU, Fiberhome has the Lead-free processing to the new developed products according to the EU directive, and through which, the author find a standard method and procedure for lead-free purchasing, including setting up company Project Group, identified the material range to be controlled, lead-free investigation to the materials, internal assessment, assessment from external institutions, monitoring the six steps in the procurement process. With the above processes, the new products complete lead-free switch.Similarly, in order to ensure that the lead-free procurement to be a long-term mechanism, there must be long-term management requirements to the suppliers. At present, there is few standards about lead-free in evaluating series to suppliers and the lead-free standard is not a key factor for considering. The author introduced a series of lead-free requirements for purchasing which are seemed as the considering items in purchasing. It also integrated the assenting policy and set up lead-free supplier evaluating system including lead time, cost as well as service.
