With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, a large number of farmers liberate from the land bondage, and also realize their social-status changing from farmers to urban residents. However, due to the level of industrialization, policy systems and their own quality limitations, many land-expropriated farmers lost their land which means they lost the only guarantee of living. They are on the brink of poverty without any land, any job and any minimal security. They live between cities and villages with a serious declining standards of life. In the report of the Seventeenth National Congress of the CPC,it points out that employment is the basis of livelihood as well as the key to solve the current problems of farmers. Urban and rural integration development is the highest stage of urbanization, which is raised according to the long-term urban-rural dual economic structure. And it is a breakthrough for the new round of China's economic development, and a prerequisite to achieve a well-off society in China. Therefore, the employment of the farmers who lost their land can be researched from urban-rural integration development. By understanding the current employment status of the landless farmers during urban-rural integration development, together with the practical investigation of Hang Zhou city, we can step into cause analysis so as to do research of the policies and guidance on how to solve the employment problems of the landless farmers during urban-rural integration development, integrate urban and rural labor resources, and realize the transference of surplus labor in countryside. This research is benefit for increasing farmers' income, improving people's livelihood, accelerating urban-rural integration development, and enhancing China's modernization development.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first chapter is introduction. It explains the basis of choosing the topic, the purpose and meaning of the research, the current status the research from home and abroad, main contents and methods of the research, and its possible innovations.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the whole thesis which includes an overview of the related concepts and theories. About concepts, it covers the definition of landless farmers, employment and employment of landless farmers; the basic connotation of urban and rural integration development; and the discussion of the relations between urban and rural integration development and the employment of landless farmers. About theories, it covers push-pull theory, theory of migration, labor market segmentation theory and human capital theory.Third chapter is the part of practice, investigation and analysis. Firstly, it summarizes the employment status of nationwide landless farmers and analyzes causes. Secondly, it analyzes the practical investigation results of Hangzhou city.The fourth chapter is the part of suggestions on measures. While learning from the developed countries' measures on solving the employment of landless farmers during urban and rural integration development, we can combine it with the real situation of our country. Then it can go into a conclusion that employment problem of landless farmers can be solved on policies, market, and the quality of the farmers.
