From January 1,2005, WTO members abolished all limits of textiles quotas, which is regarded as a token of textiles&garments industry entering the era of free trade. Looking back to Shandong textiles&garments industry, opportunity and chanllenge both exist. In the domestic market, price for materials and labor cost are increasing, equipments are old and productivity excess of demands. While in the international market,anti-dumping,special protection, technology stand and social clauses become new trade barriers of the developed against the developing countries after the cancellation of quotas, and lower price competition from other textiles industry countries forms new menace.Aiming at the weakness and threat that Shandong textiles&garments industry are facing, this thesis puts forward some suggestions for Shandong textiles to adjust their strategy to meet severe chanllenge, such as creating our own brand, going abroad, expanding export to Japanese market etc, so that Shandong textiles &garments industry may strengthen their power to be more competitive in the international market.
