Corporate performance evaluation is a subject closely related to corporatemanagement. With the rapid change of exterior environment and severe competitionfaced by companies, corporate performance evaluation is gaining greater attention andthus is being widely discussed.The paper first reviews various corporate performance practices evaluation taken byChinese and foreign companies. In addition, it analyzes the theories that corporateperformance evaluation is built on and summarizes the different ways of performanceevaluation. Then, it elaborates on criteria for performance excellence—Baldrige NationalQuality program. Because the criteria embody the thoughts of systematic theory well andhave become the international standards of corporate management in reality, the papernot only details the theory but also evaluates its pros and cons. On such a basis, to avoidthe defects of criteria for performance excellence in terms of index quantitative analysis,the paper makes full use of principal component analysis, data envelopment analysis andTwo-Tuple Linguistic method to substantiate the theory with cases.The ultimate purpose of the paper is to use the high values and sound evaluationsystem of criteria for performance excellence and combine with the segmental systemevaluation methods to reflect and appraise corporate performance in an all-round,objective and fair way, to lead companies to use the principles to conduct self evaluationand improve the weakness, to seek growth potential and strengthen competitiveness andeventually to popularize criteria for performance excellence in China.
