Expand Yancheng Textile Exports Post-quota Era

Textile industry is always one of the traditional industries in Yancheng and the important source of its foreign exchange earnings. With the consistent development of textile industry , expanding the domestic and abroad markets ought to have the highest position. However, because of insufficient technical innovation and productivity and low value added and degree of branding, textiles exports in Yancheng mainly depend on traditional and extensive products. Although international textiles trade has entered into the "Post -Quota Era" with the cancellation of textiles quotas since January 1st ,2005, the textiles trading environments facing China textile industry is not optimistic. The factors such as Special Protective Measures, Anti-dumping, Textile Technical Standards, Export Rebates, RMB appreciation and positive managing of textile bring Yancheng's textiles into the difficulties in exploring international markets and expanding textile exportation. Furthermore, with traditional comparative advantages, the competitive advantages of textile trading of Yancheng's textiles industry are insufficient. Thus, for the purpose of expanding textile export of Yancheng,the manufacturing and managing enterprises, departments and governments concerning textile industry must realize the complicated trade backgrounds and own weaknesses and take countermeasures from the three levels of enterprises ,sections and governments to continuously explore markets, lower export risks and improve the competition of export products.
