Abc's Software Quality Management Problems And Countermeasures

With the development of computer software industry, more and more companies come into this industry, which causes intensive competition. All software companies have been trying their best to build their competitive advantages in order to win the trust from customers, such as product technology improvement, excellent software talent recruitment, software quality management, better customer relationship, etc, among which, standard software quality management is one of the most important actions.Currently, the international quality management standard for software industry is the software Capability Maturity Model (CMM) designed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University, U.S.A. This model provides software companies the guideline on how to control the software development and maintenance process as well as the evolution of software engineering and management culture. The purpose of CMM is to support the software companies to improve their software process continuously through the identification of major software process issues.CMM was introduced to China in 1999, it is not popular during first 3 years as few companies have idea on this standard, however, it became more and more popular starting from 2002, so far, many software companies have adopted CMM standard, such as UF, Huawei, ZTE, Asiainfo, etc. The research focus of this paper covers the current status of CMM based software quality management of ABC Company, the major issues and corresponding actions and solutions, including the cost of quality issue, the customer response cycle time issue, flexibility issue, innovation issue and the quality goal conflict issue among different department. This paper will deeply analyze the root cause of each above issue and the related solution, so that the software quality management of ABC Company can be improved.
